BIA member Tague Lumber is hosting an overview of Weyerhaeuser’s EWP, a free, web-based sizing software. Whether you’re an architect, engineer, or design professional sizing joists, beams, posts, or studs, ForteWEB™ software performs the calculations and identifies solutions for the conditions and geometry you specify. Accurately size engineered wood, dimension lumber, and steel in one tool – compare design results, select the most effective solution, and best economical fit.
Session #2: (BLS 200) Evaluating Floor Performance

12:30 to 1:30 pm
Design floors that will meet customer expectations for performance. Participants compare the conventional code (static) approach to floor design with a dynamic approach based on customer performances. Traditional methods gauge the performance of the floor based on uniform, non-moving loads whereas customers gauge floor performance by how the floor feels when they walk, run, or jump.
Lunch is provided between sessions.
